 SpeakerTerilyn Allendorf, assistant scientist, forest and wildlife ecology; research associate, Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute

About the talk: Allendorf will discuss her research in Nepal, Myanmar, and China that explores the questions: what are the values that local residents hold toward protected areas in developing countries? What role can local residents play in conserving protected areas and wildlife? How can we build on values to improve the effectiveness of protected areas?

Dig into today’s hottest issues with UW faculty experts for thought-provoking discussions on what’s happening in the world — from politics, global health and economics to human rights, the environment and more.

Global Hot Spots is held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Fluno Center Auditorium, 601 University Avenue, Madison, WI 53715 Lectures are free and open to the public.
