Added Events to Enrich Your Big Read Experience

The PLATO Diversity Committee has added several social opportunities for PLATO members reading Matthew Desmond's Evicted: Poverty and Profit in the American City (this year's UW- Madison GO Big Read book).
   

Come, meet, share insights with others before and/or after Big Read Events!
  

Thursday, November 3 - PLATO Social Hour, 5:00 - 6:00 pm at Capitol Lakes prior to the 7:00 pm Expert Panel Discussion on "Poverty, Housing, and Evictions in Dane County and Madison."

Saturday, November 5 - Lunch gathering, - 11:30 am at Luigi's Restaurant (515 S. Midvale) prior to the Sequoya Library 1:00 pm Encore Viewing of "An Evening with Matthew Desmond" (video recorded during the author's campus presentation on Nov. 1st).

Lunch prices range from $6 to $13; order and pay at the restaurant.

And remember - the special Wrap-up of the PLATO Diversity Committee Big Read Project on Wednesday, November 16, 3:30 - 5:00 pm, Madison Central Library.  The wrap-up event will feature a panel discussion on eviction in Dane County, examination of "the way forward", plus questions/answer session.  Panel members include: Kylee Stoor - Madison Central Librarian; Shelia Stoeckel - UW Big Read Project; WIsconsin State Journal reporters; and others.
