Join us on Wednesday, March 8 for Grounded - the fifth play in our eight-play Milwaukee Rep theater trip series. Grounded is a new play staged in the smaller Stiemke Studio for an intimate theatrical experience.

DIRECTED by Laura Braza

A NEW PLAY FOR OUR TIMES

An ace fighter pilot finds herself grounded when an unexpected pregnancy puts her career on hold. When she returns to the pilot’s seat, she finds that she’s now part of the “chair force,” flying drones and dropping bombs on enemy combatants in Afghanistan from the comfort of an air conditioned trailer in Las Vegas. In this gripping, ripped-from-the-headlines new play, we find that hunting terrorists by day and being a mother by night may be this top gun’s toughest assignment yet.

What's Grounded? Should I see it?

The way wars are fought have changed drastically in the past several decades, and this play addresses those changes and the challenges today’s soldiers face. It’s a unique perspective on modern day warfare, and will also have some great production elements that will be something to see!

Learn more about Grounded - explore its Milwaukee Rep's webpage.

The Milwaukee Rep’s production of Grounded opens February 22. The running time is approximately two hours (1:30 PM – 2:45PM).

Note: There will be no Post-Show Dialogue sessions scheduled.

Registration Limit: 56

Registration Deadline: - March 7

Directions to the Stiemke Studio: The Stiemke Studio is located on the ground floor of the Milwaukee Center Rotunda in the northwest corner near the gold escalator.

The Stiemke Studio black box is a blank canvas for the designers; typically seating just over 200, patrons may be seated in two sections of seats looking down at either side of the action taking place in an aisle down the middle or more traditional banks of raked seating.

Everything in this space can be changed to best suit the director’s concept for the show and no two shows in this space are alike.

The outer lobby of the Stiemke Studio, where one first enters, includes a Concierge where you can check out assistive listening devices, purchase parking passes for the Milwaukee Center Garage, check your coat or pick up a large print program.

The lobby includes seating, standing cocktail tables, and bar offering drinks and concessions.

Milwaukee Rep’s Stiemke Studio is handicapped accessible. However, each seating row is elevated above the proceeding row. There is handrail support on the outer stairway of each section.

Accessibility Policy. On the Badger Bus, you must be able to climb steps to board and exit the bus. If you need assistance, we recommend that you bring a friend to give you a hand.

Guest Policy Members must register their guests. Each PLATO member is entitled to bring one non-member guest per bus trip. (Members may bring more than one guest near the registration Deadline Date if seats are available.

Check with the trip organizer.) Non-member guests pay an additional $15.00 registration fee. PLATO Membership is $60.00/year.
