Modesto "Larry" Dulay Itliong (October 25, 1913 – February 8, 1977), frequently referred to as one of the "fathers of the West Coast labor movement", immigrated to the United States from the Philippines at age 15, where he worked along the West coast as a laborer. Itliong formed the Filipino Farm Labor Union in 1956, which later joined with the work of Cesar Chavez and Delores Huerta with the National Farm Workers Association.
